There are only three spoons this season that carry some pictorial carving on their handle. This one displays a three-stem flower motif, which combines deep and shallow engraving against a hatched background to highlight the sinuous forms of its content. Oil paint was applied and then rubbed off, giving the spoon a subtle washed tone and bringing out the details of its shallow carving. It is finished with several coats of food safe oil. Wash normally, do not dishwash.
