The largest spoon on offer this season is also one of the most formally articulated and complex pieces of the collection. Its curves are confident because they reflect a dialogue between the material and the maker, and the spoon is stronger for it. Seriously, I could not break this thing with my hands if I tried (but please, do not try this at home). The sinuous character of the spoon is carried through in the decoration, which implies a continuous curve through a series of engraved arches. I am really happy with this spoon, because in looking at its profile I see a successful evocation of the spirit of the tree. It is finished with several coats of food safe oil. Wash normally, do not dishwash.
