Sometimes you start carving and the wood takes you in completely unexpected directions. I could have never drawn this shape out on a piece of paper, but the form came naturally to me while I was sculpting this spoon with my Svante Djarv carving knife. The red paint completes the eclectic aesthetic of this piece, and assures that it won't go unseen in any context. Spoon 47 is formally different, but provides a nice compliment for those looking to match a pair of spoons this fall. This spoon is finished with several coats of food safe oil, and the red oil paint will reveal its age beautifully as your time with the spoon passes. Wash normally, do not dishwash.
