A minimalist box that brings enjoyment from a glance as well as thorough use. Only six pieces of wood are involved in its construction — the absolute minimum for a rectangular box — and while the joinery itself is deceptively simple, its exposure along the edges of the box draws the eye in to linger in the space between detail and overall form. The opening appears as a moment along the trajectory of these long faces, materializing in our presence before disappearing again at the edges of the piece.
Pictured below in curly birch, this lovely two tone example shows off the brilliance of birch while also providing some color contrast in the meeting of heartwood and sapwood. The VR/AR model is meant to convey size and general color properties, and may not precisely match the box on sale.
