This is one of my favorite spoons from this summer's batch, mainly because the type of accident that caused its handle to be so unique occurs rarely and does not always allow for a full spoon to materialize. It is sometimes called a cleft surface, and is the result of a clean split between two blanks. I was very happy to be able to keep that surface within the handle of this spoon, which is otherwise simple but features lovely grain variation and curliness, which likely caused the uneven split in the first place. Wash normally, do not dishwash.
