This was the last spoon I made this summer. I am not sure if it was the sunflowers I keep around the house, or simply watching the summer sun set so late, but I was inspired to carve a sunflower into its handle and use the gradient painting technique to evoke the shift from green to yellow in the flower's stem and petals. I like this color combination quite a bit, and I feel it sets off an otherwise simple, sturdy spoon with a little artistic flair. Wash normally, do not dishwash.
